y belief is that different books ‘speak’ to us at different times during our journey through grief, and what irritates us during the early months of bereavement may comfort us later, and vice versa. I have a shelf packed with books on bereavement, trauma, working through grief and man’s search for proof of the afterlife, but these are the books that I always recommend because I have personally found them useful and thought provoking, even if there were times when I disagreed strongly with the narrative.
