I think this is a rather lovely analogy for putting our shattered lives back together and our new life being very different, but in its own way, very beautiful.

I like this analogy. (New to me).
The tragedy of having something valuable broken and smashed to pieces. Then, slowly rebuilding it with strong (albeit invisible) bonds, piece by piece, into something that looks and functions almost the same but now has more amenity and utility.
